Senior Accountant 

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage fixed asset accounting and support the financial tracking of company-leased machinery and equipment leases across our national distribution operations. This role will maintain the integrity of the company’s fixed asset records, oversee equipment lease accounting, and perform key balance sheet reconciliations while partnering with internal teams and external CPA firms.
This position is ideal for an accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting responsibilities with operational asset tracking and process ownership.


Key Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Accounting

  • Maintain and reconcile the company’s fixed assets and accumulated depreciation schedules.
  • Record and review fixed asset additions, disposals, and adjustments (approximately 100–200 transactions annually).
  • Ensure monthly depreciation entries are recorded and reconciled.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all capitalized assets.
  • Partner with external CPA firm to provide quarterly updates and year-end schedules.

Equipment & Machinery Lease Management

  • Maintain financial tracking for approximately 15,000 pieces of leased machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate billing and allocation of machinery costs to warehouses, sales teams, or customers.
  • Monitor equipment records to ensure proper billing, returns, and asset accountability.
  • Investigate discrepancies related to equipment charges and machine usage.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to fixed assets and equipment leases.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Support month-end close processes related to asset accounting.

Operational Support & Projects

  • Assist with process improvements and internal controls related to asset tracking and billing.
  • Support audits by providing schedules and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure asset and machine tracking accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2-5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills
  • Experience managing fixed assets or asset accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills

Preferred

  • Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred)
  • Experience with equipment leasing or asset-intensive industries
  • CPA or CPA-track a plus
