This popular podcast from National Public Radio recently celebrated its 1000th episode. Launched in 2008 during the financial crisis, Planet Money strives to explain complicated and dry financial topics in an interesting and exciting way. While the show is geared more toward those without a deep finance background or education, many finance professionals enjoy the podcast’s ability to make “boring” financial stories entertaining. They’ve done some innovative and fun things to help explain how our economy works, from buying 100 barrels of crude oil and following it “from ground to gas tank,” to launching a satellite.

Based on the best-selling books, Freakonomics Radio explores social and cultural topics through an economic lens. The podcast covers a wide range of topics, including seeking to explain why cities are so expensive to live in, the economics of sports gambling, and how to fix student loan debt. 

Yahoo! Finance Daily 

Need a quick run-down of the latest financial news? Yahoo! Finance Daily is a 4-5 minute daily podcast that’s perfect for the financial professional who’s short on time and is just looking for a quick update on the day’s most important financial and economic news.
