The Sr. Financial Analyst – FP&A is responsible for all areas of financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting within the organization. They will coordinate and participate in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial models. This position will work cross-functionally to improve the profitability of each of our industry segments. They will utilize their knowledge and skills to make continuous business improvement recommendations to the senior leadership team. This role will be part of the analytical engine, which drives better decision-making.
Critical Success Factors:
- Create more robust FP&A reporting: Take ownership of the FP&A needs of the business and maintain monthly board reporting for the Executive Team, along with all entity-level financial modeling (CapEx, buy/build, etc.)
- Drive improvement through intellectual curiosity: Understand all facets of the business and apply this knowledge by creating meaningful analysis and commentary. Act as a detective and consultant for the business by uncovering opportunities where the Company can make meaningful improvements.
- Sales & Operational Data Reporting: Understand all aspects of our data cubes, including how they connect, which areas we need to make improvements, and what other information should be shown differently. This requires a deep understanding of large data sets and database connections.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consolidate and prepare financial reports, including an analysis of period results and both positive and negative trends.
- Report and analyze all sales data, including margin and selling price deviations.
- Report and analyze product/customer/segment profitability utilizing our data cubes and other data available within our systems. This includes ensuring the data in our systems is clean and maintained appropriately.
- Analyze & forecast major company cost positions.
- Provide analytical reviews on P&L and Balance Sheet
- Analyze current processes for streamlining and automation opportunities.
- Develop and present recommendations on cost savings and other initiatives that drive efficiency and reduce cycle time in report preparation.
- Take an active role in the annual budgeting and strategic planning process.
- Ensure all modeling is supported by best practices and be the go to person for investment analysis.
- Prepare and analyze financial models to support decision-making related to acquisitions and integrations.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of acquired entities post-integration.
- Participate in due diligence during the acquisition process, evaluating the financial health of target companies.

- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited four-year college or university is required
- Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited college or university preferred
- Accounting or finance certification (CPA, CMA, FPA, etc.) preferred
- 6 or more years of proven experience working in public or private company finance/accounting preferably with a manufacturing or distribution organization
- 4+ years relevant Financial Analysis experience
- Advanced MS Office skills that include strong Excel data management, specifically indexing, matching, lookups, pivot tables, and a data-basing mindset.
