Fund Controller (1665)
The Funds Controller will report directly to the CFO of the client, but will also work closely with the Corporate Controller who also reports to the CFO.
Responsibilities
The Funds Controller will have a meaningful role in the following areas:
- To manage all aspects of the accounting, consolidation and finance function for clients investment funds for both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensures that client is a good steward of its investor’s funds while providing both client and its investors with high-quality financial deliverables
- Develop models and partner level allocations for client distributions that aligned with each fund’s Limited Partnership Agreement
- Oversee the completion of the external audit process in conjunction with CFO for all of clients investment funds
- Prepare forecasts for clients funds to ensure each fund’s cash position was sufficient and that investor’s funds were being used in an efficient manner
- Manage the fund’s lines of credit to ensure each fund is complying with its debt covenants and that all loans are repaid in line with the terms of each facility
The Funds Controller will also have a meaningful on-going management/management support role. Support activities in this area could include reviewing monthly operating results, participating in monthly Operations Review meetings and quarterly President’s Forum meetings (i.e. Board Meetings), annual business plan evaluation, analysis of capital expenditure projects, assisting with the implementation of automated financial reporting package, add-on acquisition support (see descriptions above) and other special projects (including preparation of bridge and sales analyses).

Compensation
The compensation for this position will be influenced by the marketplace and the current experience of the candidate. The position will carry an attractive base salary and will be eligible for an annual bonus, depending upon the achievement of defined business and personal objectives. In addition, the position will be eligible for bonuses that are paid upon the divestiture of portfolio businesses.
Other Agreements
As a condition of employment the candidate will be required to sign a confidentiality and non-compete agreement.
Travel & Work Location:
Minimal travel and desirable central St. Louis location.
The Candidate
Education/Certifications
BS/BA from a credible institution in accounting or finance is required. A minor/second major in systems or applied math is a plus. CPA or working toward completion is highly preferable.
Professional Qualifications
- 10 plus years of experience post-graduation,
- Strong Controllership oriented skills
- General accounting and financial consolidation skills,
- Technical accounting experience is a plus, SEC exposure a plus
- Larger firm Public accounting experience plus Corporate financial management experience
- Experience working with manufacturing or distribution businesses is a plus,
- Enjoys working as an individual contributor in a team atmosphere versus direct management of staff
