Division Controller (1691)
The Controller, in collaboration with the Division General Manager and the Corporate Controller, manages all accounting functions, leads the division accounting team, reports financial results, prepares budgets, coordinates external audits, and consults with Division personnel on business issues. The Controller will partner with the Division General Manager in setting strategy while leading continued growth and profitability of the division. This is a highly visible position that will interact regularly with the Division General Manager, the Corporate Controller, the CFO, and the CEO.
RESPONSIBILTIIES:
- Lead all general accounting, cost accounting, and payroll activities of the division.
- Supervise the accounting team across two plant locations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cost accounting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all monthly financial reports including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Lead the annual budget process and reforecasting as required.
- Work with operational leaders to analyze pricing, gross margins, and operational metrics to identify opportunities to expand operating margins while controlling overhead costs.
- Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and general ledger inventory.
- Maintain the accuracy of all inventory costing and overhead allocation methodologies.
- Analyze investment opportunities; prepare return on investment calculations for investments in new production equipment and automation opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for all finance related activities.
- Assist the Corporate Controller with all information needed for external audits and bank covenant compliance reporting.
- Partner with the Corporate ERP Director in becoming the subject matter expert for all financial aspects of the new Infor Syteline ERP system.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for corporate leadership team as requested.
- Develop a leadership presence within both plant locations and with the Corporate leadership team. Coordinate, communicate, support, mentor, and interact with Division personnel to foster teamwork and ensure open communication while fostering an environment that develops a productive workforce and positive work environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ERP skills. Experience in ERP migration is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Infor Syteline ERP system is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from production personnel to Corporate CEO.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and lead others, including employees who are not under your supervision
- Travel expectations are approximately 15%
- Strong analytical skills with expertise Microsoft Excel.
Base salary range up to $130,000 plus bonus
