Division Controller (1666)
The Division Controller will have the following responsibilities:
- Monthly Financial Statement Close: Oversee and drive the monthly financial statement close process, including the review and analysis of financial data, journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments. Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate closing activities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals; providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly GAAP financial statements, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to divisional and corporate management.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for cost reduction. Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Accounting Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function. Implement best practices and automation solutions to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy.
- System Integrations: Oversee the integration of financial systems and software applications to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy. Collaborate with IT and finance teams to implement and maintain integrated systems.
- Facilitate Audits: Facilitate audits of the division’s financial information by external auditors. Provide necessary documentation, explanations, and support to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Support Other Functions: Provide financial support and analysis to other functions of the business, including operations, operational finance, Shared Services, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business performance and achieve strategic objectives.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting – CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the wholesale or distribution sectors. Prior experience and success as an Assistant Controller, Controller or equivalent role is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Proven ability to be proactive and self-starting in identifying and resolving issues, with a track record of implementing process improvements and driving efficiencies.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to lead and communicate with direct reports based out of various locations throughout the United States and Canada. Some travel with be required (less than 20%).

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compensation: $160-175,000 base salary plus bonus and excellent corporate benefit package.
