The Director of Accounting & Finance role is being added to support continued growth and evolving needs. This is a pivotal leadership role with an opportunity to directly impact accounting success and financial strategy. The Director of Accounting and Finance will lead accounting operations while also contributing to process improvement and finance initiatives. This position will be based at our headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri and report to the Chief Financial Officer. This position will give you the opportunity to:

Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, credit and collections, payroll, general ledger, and financial statement preparation
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing accounting team of approximately ten associates
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and federal/state tax regulations, in collaboration with the Controller
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting procedures and systems, including ERP optimization and process automation
- Oversee and optimize payroll processing, including multi-state compliance and commission-based compensation accruals
- Establish and maintain a set of financial reports that monitor business performance
- Present financial data and strategies to senior leaders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other department leaders
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, insurance renewals, and banking agreements with third party partners, in collaboration with the Controller and CFO
- Assist with financial planning and analysis, annual budgeting, and KPI dashboards to support strategic decision-making
- Support M&A efforts, including due diligence and integration
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA designation preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a collaborative environment
- Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Familiarity with M&A due diligence and integration processes, preferred
