Accounting Specialist (1676)
The Accounting Specialist will report to the Director of Accounting and work regularly with all levels of the organization. The position will oversee the payroll function and the financial services area including Credit, A/R, and A/P.
Responsibilities include:
- Process the payrolls in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with certified payroll reporting as needed.
- Responsible for the application of cash receipts into the Accounts Receivable subsidiary ledger.
- Process the Accounts Payable payments including:
- Verifying check amounts against invoices.
- Prepare checks for Executive signature.
- Responsible for documenting the credit card charges ensuring that all receipts are received, approved, and coded for general ledger and job cost codes.
- Prepare credit applications as needed.
- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
- Assist Director of Accounting with providing documentation requested for financial, tax and insurance audits.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Skills and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred. Minimum of an associate degree.
- Must have 1-3 years accounting experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in the construction or real estate development industry preferred.
- Embraces a “service mindset” attitude with both internal and external customers.
- Must be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency related to critical deadlines.
- Some very limited travel may be required from time to time.
Compensation: $60-70,000 plus benefit package.
