The VP Purchasing will be responsible for managing the materials and procurement processing on behalf of the company.  Will assess, develop and implement processes and metrics where needed and will help drive continuous improvement to existing processes and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing programs.
  • Develop and drive any national contract opportunities for services or products necessary for any and all company locations.
  • Support company locations by negotiating contracts and supply agreements for commodities & services  in collaboration with other functional business departments.
  • Ensure that suppliers meet quality requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, lead and implement sourcing initiatives to reduce cost and provide year-on-year cost improvement in collaboration with field and corporate leadership.
  • Coordinate and drive supplier  improvement programs to maximize value.
  • Participate in supplier selection activities such as audits of suppliers to evaluate facilities  and capabilities.
  • Review  claims  and contracts  for conformance to company policy.
  • Forecast supply vulnerabilities and implement plans to insure continuity of supply.
  • Manage relationships to ensure reliable supply and appropriate resolution of any disputes that arise related to supply.
  • Manage metrics  including evaluating existing  metrics  and implementing new ones as appropriate.
  • Ensure  compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree  in business, business management or other business related discipline
  • 12+ years overall experience with at least 3 years at the Director or Senior Mangement level in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
  • Experience in national program development and roll out a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as external vendors/suppliers.
