The Manager Business Planning, under the leadership of the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will work with operational teams and other members of the Finance team to identify and report on the right operational and financial information to assist the business in making the right decisions in a timely manner. Specific responsibilities include:
- Interfacing with operational departments to help identify and report on key performance indicators to assist with business decision making.
- Monthly financial analysis for operational departments, as well as total company.
- Assist with forecasting entire company profitability.
- Departmental and total company budget development.
- Contributing to process improvement teams to reduce costs and increase operational performance.
- New business proposal analysis and comparisons to actual performance where applicable.
- Interface with GL Accounting team on month-end close and various financial reporting issues.
Essential responsibilities:
- Work with operational departments to implement processes and build financial models that provide insight to assist leadership in making key business decisions.
- Develop accurate and timely reporting, analysis, and forecasting of the company’s financials as it relates to specific business lines as well as total company.
- Investigate material variances between the budget and actual financial performance, re-forecast and recommend a course of action to mitigate variances.
- Facilitate the annual business plan and monthly close processes using existing accounting and reporting systems.
- Validate monthly financial transactions and data. Interface with GL Accounting team for these processes.
- Identify, lead, and assist with process improvement projects.
- Assist managers with new business opportunities by examining business risks and opportunities and calculating expected financial performance. Develop post mortem process to ensure expected results are achieved.
- Assist department managers with back-office related issues (AR, AP, legal, etc) by facilitating relationships with the shared services organization.
